Jaisalmer, often referred to as the "Golden City," is a city in the northwestern Indian state of Rajasthan. It's famous for its stunning desert architecture, historic forts, and the unique culture of the Thar Desert.
Jaisalmer was founded in 1156 AD by Maharawal Jaisal Singh, a Rajput ruler, who established it as a trading post in the heart of the desert.
